One of the reasons why I bought a Jet boat was to redo things myself. I usually dive into hobbies and learn everything I can about them and end up doing all the work myself and learning a lot in the process. When I was really into long range shooting I started building custom rifles. When I use to rope I built my own tack the list goes on but you get the idea.

I originally went to the hot boat boards to get advice from others. I quickly learned that most of the people that “Built their own Boat” actually had other people build their boat for them.  There is nothing wrong with that I just like to do things myself. I also learned that most of the people that expressed opinions had no idea what they were talking about.

I am a fairly educated person and I have the ability to do almost anything I put my mind to. I put a lot more time and effort into things that I would get if I took it to someone and I enjoy doing things myself.

Anyway that is enough of me hijacking this thread. Sorry ParkerRiverRat  and welcome again to the boards.

MPD does pump work. Not that many people know how to blueprint there own pumps, so MPD comes highly recommended around here because Jack is a good honest guy whos knows his sh^t.

I dont know why when a local guy ask for a shop recommendation Chet has to chime in and shoot it down. He cant just put his recommendation in and move on like everyone else.

I will say that when HBjet and Chet go at it is in all in fun, and more entertaining than anything. We tried to get Chet to come to OP6 last year.

I am the same way, and since I cant pull my pump I cant send it out, I did ask as to why I had grooves worn in my first impeller, and was told that the sandy water I run in will cause that, thus the .020 to .030 clearance, to allow tha sand out and not ball up the alum and smoke another imp.
