It is with great excitement (and a few sore muscles! that I tell you I am training for the Carlsbad Marathon as a member of Team In Training (TNT). The marathon takes place in San Diego County on Sunday, January 20th, 2008. It is with a humble heart that I ask for your contribution to my undertaking.
I should tell you up front that I am, at best, an average runner. I don’t mind getting out there for a 30 minute run, but the thought of running 26.2 miles – all at once – is a bit terrifying! The furthest distance I have run prior to this is 5 miles.
To help me cross the finish line, I joined TNT. Not only do they provide me with a great training program, but they are part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a non-profit health organization dedicated entirely to finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society supports; research, patient financial aid, education, and community services. Everyone on my team is raising funds to help stop these diseases from taking more lives.
I have committed to raise a minimum of $2,000 by November 1, 2007, and would love your support. Your donation will help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission of finding cures and saving lives. And “yesâ€, your donation is fully tax deductible. Over 75% of the $2,000 will go towards research and patient services, as will 100% of the amount I reach above and beyond my goal.
The easiest way to make a donation is to go to my personal Ari Crandall TNT training page:
FUNDRAISING DONATION PAGE
Click on “Donate Now†(left side of the page)
I will gladly accept donations after November 1st. However, the sooner I meet my fundraising goal, the better I can focus my energy on preparing for the marathon. I also encourage you to pass on this letter (or the URL above) to anyone else who might be interested in helping this cause. Any amount you can give will help – every penny counts!
I am running this marathon in honor of all individuals battling leukemia; these people are the real heroes of my team. On behalf of TNT and my chapter’s honorees who come cheer us on when we train – I thank you for your consideration.
With Great Appreciation, Â
Ari
