So... I'm laying on the couch last night, channel surfing, when my dog runs out the bedroom with kind of a goofy look on her face. Â She's running around all hibbly-bibbly and scratching at her ear. Â
Now, we've been having a bit of a "parasite" problems (tics), so I figure she's got one on her ear. Â I get down and look everything over, and she looks ok, but I notice the inside of one of her ears is kind of red. Â I didn't really think anything of it, and just chalked it up to her being a goof ball some of the time (ok, most of the time... )
Off puppy goes back into the bedroom, presumabley to see what Becky is doing. Â The next thing I hear is Becky asking me to "Come here, right now!!" Â Considering Becky is in the bedroom and calling for me, I oblige. Â
I walk around the corner, and there is Alley, puffing up and swelling before my eyes... Â Her poor nose was all lumpy and here jowels all swollen, eyelids puff and she just looked miserable. Â
I run accross the street to the Quick Stop and get her some Benadryl, then high tail it back to the house. Â She's not having any problems breathing or anything, but she's swollen up like water balloon all around her head. Â Being the little piggy she is, Alley wolfs down the Benadryl and then crawl onto my lap on the floor... Â nothing like having 70 lbs of sick labrador in your lap for fun on a Sunday evening.
The drugs do the trick and the swelling goes down in about 15 minutes. Â Of course now my dog is drugged up, she was pretty out of it. Â I got no sleep last night, since I woke up every hour to make sure she was still breathing, which was easy to tell because she was snorring Â
Is having kids any easier???

A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.
