Quote (AZKC @ Sep. 13 2007,8:47 am) | These turtles are about 200 pounds and the shells push 3ft in length Â
I'll bet there are tons of turtles in Havasu, all the little turtle pets the kids tossed in there are growing up |
Lots, Everywhere, but only 4-6 inches. If I ever saw a 3' 200 lb. turtle in Havi, I'd get out of the water, fast.

Quote (David @ Sep. 13 2007,4:41 pm) | Waterdog, they are not actually snapping turtles in Havasu are they? |
From what I have heard/read, they are indeed the snapping type...have seen them @Steamboat as well. We actually hooked into one out on the piers @Mesquite Bay....just cut 'em loose...
