That's cool. I got to see one when were scuba diving in Belize one year. :good

We were down at about 60 feet and he came out of nowhere. It was pretty cool to see them in their enviroment.

Monday at Steamboat, locals where telling me about the large turtles there. Yeah right, go have another, :drink

. Half an hour later here one came swimming by. Looked like the Loch Ness monster with it's head sticking up, wake and all. Had to have been at least a foot wide.

These turtles are about 200 pounds and the shells push 3ft in length :eek

I'll bet there are tons of turtles in Havasu, all the little turtle pets the kids tossed in there are growing up

Lots, Everywhere, but only 4-6 inches. If I ever saw a 3' 200 lb. turtle in Havi, I'd get out of the water, fast.

The sea turtles are vegetarians, very passive, Becky didn't know that, so she was out of the water pretty quick :eek

we we first spotted them :rotflmao

Then one of the locals told her they were harmless, but she still wouldn't get back in

From what I have heard/read, they are indeed the snapping type...have seen them @Steamboat as well. We actually hooked into one out on the piers @Mesquite Bay....just cut 'em loose...
