I had mine done 3 months ago. What a difference! I can see! I had astigmatism, so I chose to have a procedure called "monovision", meaning my eyes were corrected to 20/15 in both eyes, but my left eye was corrected for near sighted and my right eye was corrected for far sighted. At first it was like wearing bifocals, but my brain adapted an I got used to it. It was definitely worth the $$$ for me, and I'd do it all over again! I went to Dr. Charles Manger at the Saddleback Eye Center in Irvine, Ca., he is the master!

Quote (WATERDOG @ Sep. 26 2007,8:18 am) | I'm hoping to have one eye done after the New Year. I'm scared to death about having my eye cut open. |
The procedure is so fast and painless. You feel pressure only as the machine presses down on the eye. You stare at a little orange dot as the laser fires, and in about 3 minutes it's done. Both eyes took about 5-6 minutes to complete.

Quote (GlassMan @ Sep. 26 2007,12:23 pm) | Does it work for close-up reading problems? I can see distance just fine, but it's the small print - I just can't read close-up anymore. Â |
Yes it does. It's really cool how it works. You sit and place your face/eyes against a scope that blinds you with light for a few seconds, and it actuallu maps you eye and tells them exactly what part of your eye is screwed up and whether you're near or far sighted or astigmatism. The do several painless, quick tests, then put a glasses like device on you showing you exactly how your vision will be after the Lasik procedure. I was 20/300 with astigmatism, but was corrected to 20/15 in both eyes. For those who don't know what the 20/whatever actually means, it means that before I was corrected, I could see at 20 feet what someone else(who is 20/20) could see at 300 feet. I no longer wear glasses of any kind except for sun glasses. They can correct near sightedness, far sightedness, or astigmatism

Quote (Purple Jurk @ Sep. 27 2007,5:17 am) | I can't wait to go as I am blind in one eye and can't see out of the other  I am so tired of wearing these glasses and all of the hassel with Doctors and waiting on them to be delivered, I have been waiting on a pair of sun glasses for 5 weeks now and they are still not in I called them and told them to drop the order and return my Money!!!  |
If you pass through Rancho on the 210, the wife's eye doctor place is on Haven and Baseline. Her doctor and lab are top-notch. They can help ya out, big-time...!!! 909-980-3535
They refer patients to Dr. Fabrecan (sp?) for Lasik, I believe...
