The GuestBook for the site has been modified AGAIN!
More than 99.0% of the entries are made by spammers.  In the past I have done things to thwart their efforts, but they still persist. 
A while ago, I added a "security" number that has to be entered so entries have to be made manually, and that helped a lot.
Also, I made it so entries are not posted automatically. Â I screen them first, so spammers don't get their stuff posted. Â The hassle has been that I still have to weed through their crap.
Now, I have limited entries in the "comment" textarea to 200 characters. Â That's plenty to leave a real comment, but prevents me from having to scroll through dozens of lines of spam. 
There is a new JavaScript character counter to count characters as you type. Â More than anything, this is just for the convenience of the guest because the server won't take entries any longer no matter what. Â If you turn off JavaScript to get around it, it won't matter, because the server will reject it anyway. Â The same goes for pasting info into the field. Â You can get around the JavaScript, but not the server code.

And a good job you do. Thanks. I just came in from HB, They're keeping everything on a really personal level too. Of course it's a level I never want to be on. I really think these guys hate each other. If they went by the old addege, "If nothing nice to say, don't say anything," they would be down to about 20 posts. Thanks again Doug. |

Well it just started off as a personal home page. That's why the name HavasuDoug.com. I added a "river" information page to it and after a while, I put all my energy into that. Eventually, that became the index page and the other stuff got put on the back burner. Then, came the board and it took off. |
Would be interesting to read your original blogs, especially the one labled "My special moments on the Sand Bar (pictures deleted)"

That's funny because the very same girl that was against the guest book had special moments with me, not at the sand bar, but at one of the reed hidden coves on the Cali side.
