I've just about switched all my lamps over to them and I am rather happy with 'em. They give out good light, save electricity and aren't much more expensive than normal bulbs.
My Havi house is 99% CF.  Tiny electric bill from there.
My Ca. home is around 75% done or so.
.
I was skeptical at first, but I do believe they are $ and resource savers. The equivelent of a 60 watt lamp uses 14 watts. I even tried some spot lights for the backyard that are fanphuckingtastic........
The one type of lamp they seem not to work the best for is motion sensor lights because the bulbs need about 30 or so seconds to get fully bright.
.
.
it's my little part in reducing global warming :p
.
.
Anyone else have these or considered converting?

When we recently moved into our house we replaced all the bulbs to the energy savers.  The only ones that I wouldn't allow hubby to replace were the ones where you can see the bulb like all of the ceiling fans...

I put them in our 3 outside lights a year and 3 months ago. I admit I do not like the looks of them but they sure last one hell of a lot longer than a regular bulb. I was changing the regular nice looking bulbs every 2 1/2 to 3 months.

i can't buy into the whole LED Christmas light thing though.  I personally think that they are ugly and too bright-- there has got to be a way to design the cover of the bulb to give off the warm glow of a regular Christmas light...... :stupid

Hmm, I thought that they weren't as bright??? I went to a store in SD near Sea World, they had a story on the news about the LED bulbs and said that they had plenty in stock, I know why they had plenty in stock, $59 for a box of 25 bulbs, not including the power cords, the salesman tried to tell me how great they were, I picked up a couple of boxes, walked around the store for about an hour then set them down and left, that store is smoking crack, stupid thing is there were people picking up the boxes left and right...  :stupid

I still use the mini whites for the house but gave up trying to fix them if a section goes dead...at a couple bucks for 100 light strand I just as soon avoid the anger.... :laugh
I'm not particularly gentle with them, and maybe the staples aren't the best for 'em either  :rotflmao

Ok, what is all this talk about "CF" bulbs, what does CF stand for, this must be a cali fo you thing,LOL, As for the X-mas lights, can't find the LED one's, I have seen them on tree and things, I know you have no tree in cali, but we do, And I would love to find some, but can't, as far as the mini lights go, yes they are a pain in the a$$, I have 4 totes full of the things, if they quit, I pull the light out and toss it.

This past summer we have been going to garage sale and yard sales, and picking up pre-lit X-mas trees, you know the 3 or 4 ft tall ones, and stiking them in my front yard, Plug and play.
