Got my watch also!  I waited until we got all unpacked to confirm my suspicions because I hoped it would turn up.  Everything is unpacked and no watch.  :( I often leave it next to the sink as I'm cleaning the kitchen and that missing JD bottle was next to the sink.  I'm thinking one or the other caught the thief's eye and the second was an afterthought.  The watch was a gift from Jeff when I started substitute teaching.

Luckily, I found the same model on Ebay at a dealer in Florida.  The display model.  I just bought it.  I figure Jeff got it for 300 off the original price, we now got the same watch for full price  :) Still sux, I know.  But I'll be happy to get another one identical.

I'm thinking I might have to do the same thing with  the camera.  We talked about selling the Canon lens and accessories that I still have and switching to a Nikon ( Jeff likes Nikons, I like Canons) but it would cost about $2500 to do that with the 300 zoom also, and it looks like it might only be $200-$300 to get the camera body and stock lens for the Canon.

Oh, and we went back to Chick's and got Cody's same exact jacket, it was the last one and it just happened to be his size.  He was so happy, he loves the jacket. It has skulls on it  :good

Maybe the SOB would be kind enough to send us a pic of himself wearing the coat and watch and holding up the JD as he dies a slow and painful death.

Your whole theivery story had us all freaked out as we checked into our UNLOCKED condo up in Mammoth. We rented direct from the owner who has a lockbox outside the door with a key in it...we couldn't get into the lockbox but it just so happened the door was unlocked. That made us a little uneasy.
All went fine but it was a bit un-nerving after I'd just told Jan about your incident.
.
It's nice to see you take it in stride Angie. It sucks for sure either way but it ain't worth the stress of getting overly angry about something you can't change now. :peace

Are you still up there?  If you are, talk about perfect timing!  Jeff actually went and bought a new deadbolt and installed it so we could sleep without worrying if someone was in our house.  Then he changed it back right before we left.  Our friend, Gary, still slept on the couch every night with his gun loaded.  It was pretty funny when he asked the officer if he could shoot the next intruder.  Her response, without missing a beat, "Just remember the following words. . . you were in fear for your life."  I love Montana  :D   If he had asked that in Kalifornia, the officer would have got all cross and butt hurt and said something like "Don't take the law into your own hands, leave it to the professionals."

Got home last night...see Unburied thread.
That was smart thinking on Jeff's part but in our case the condo manager simply forgot to change the code on the lockbox before we arrived. As it was the condo owner was so sorry about she bought us all dinner and then the manager was so sorry he brought us a $50 gift card....that works for me. :good
