I think they have to prove that you were using the device....which is easy enough if you hand it over. They can check the time of the last call made or received. I guess you have to keep the phone turned off while driving.
And does that include "OnStar"?? What happens if they call to tell you that the ashtray is full?

Couple of years ago I went to a speaker phone. Trashed it fast. I thought it was more dangerous than just the cell. |
I'm ok with using a 'blue tooth' type hands free...but the corded ear pieces that end up wrapped around your arm and stearing wheel while turning (using hand over hand method required by DMW testing) seems FAR MORE DANGEROUS to me...
I personally think teenagers should not have cell phones while driving...handsfree or not, they can't drive worth crap and are still learning how to properly navigate the potiental death trap called a car. Even those that have been driving a tracktor since 5th grade...(yes we have those here, I was one of them! but during those teen years, burn outs, showing off, speeding, being wreckless is typical and throwing a cell phone in the mix is NOT GOOD...IMHO
This gagdet seems cool.

Hi, I'm Bob Mobley, Executive Director of the Lake Havasu City Marine Assn. There is an EPA law coming into effect in September that will effect us all. It won't matter if you have a 28' Magic cat, or a ocean freighter, it's going to be the same. The EPA will require all boat owners to obtain a permit from them, if you hose out your bilge, or squirt off your deck. Please go to www.boatblue.org and let your senator know, you feel this is unfair. There are 17 senators on board now who are wanting to change the law before it goes into effect, however we need more. This is important, and we need to deal with it asap.
