Her argument is the Beemer was only an eighth of the cost of the truck. I told her we'll just drive the truck 8 times as much as her car :good  :flamed

I recently got a 2007 2500HD Duramax........Just think of the money you will be saving on fuel costs!  We get 17 around town and over 20 on the highway, so if you will be driving it 8 times more than the beemer, you will make up the difference in milage over the Burb in no time!!!

Look how much money I am saving us honey!! :D

(Hey, it just might work!! )

The 325is just turned 200k, the Burb hit 161k, the kids Beemer is at around 230k, and the Rx7 is around 140k.  :D So buying a truck with 180k wiould be no problem ;)

Had 175+K on the 5.3 powered Sierra. It was starting to nickel and dime me, and I was worried about the reliability of it.

Getting stuck from a mechanical with an 8 yr. old boy out in some of the places we go during an Arizona summer would not be my first choice of an adventure.....And the 5.3 had a tough time getting the boat to Powell......

0% interest, cash back, GM card savings......it just all added up and was truly felt meant to be. In fact when we pulled up at the dealer, Daniel said "Look Dad, thers's our new truck".  Turns out he was right. It was right there in front of us. We looked through the entire inventory, but bought the one we pulled up in front of in the beginning. I should listen to  my son more often!! :laugh  :laugh

At $3.19, diesel is more expensive than gas, but we were getting around 10 in the other truck, and now we get 17+ all the time and over 20 unloaded on the highway.

Oh, and it tows the boat like its not even there!

We love the truck!!

At the cabin in Pinetop....

10 mile/gal with a 5.3??  Full time 4wd??

I see some of these mpg figures people are getting and wonder what I'm doing wrong.  My Blazer get's 18 or so unloaded on the highway, 15 around town, 12 pulling the boat in the hills...  TBI 350...

My brother has a 5.3 in his Z71 Sierra and he pulls down close to 20 out on the highway (that's running 80 on the interstate), 13 or so pulling the boat...

The newest car I've ever owned had 60K on it... the Blazer is pushing 200K and the Bimmer has 150K... they are just getting broken in. :D Of course I do all my own wrenching, so that saves a pile of $$$$...

Not full time 4WD but 285 size tires, and a tired motor from all that towing.....

Amazing milage on those trucks Sleek!

I wonder what I am doing wrong!!!!
