We were first in our division (co-ed relay), second overall in the relays.  But really we were all dissappointed.  We had a tough day, my swimmer got blown off the course by the wind, and she got kicked pretty hard on top of that.  So she felt that she lost about two minutes from that. Then I had trouble with my shoes, for the cycling leg you have to run about 150 yards with your bike before you can ride.  So I tried to run out in socks and put my shoes on as I rode, turned out to be a bad plan.  So then I rode way too hard on the first leg (right into a 20-25 mph headwind) and pretty well had a meltdown after that. :flamed   So it took me 83 minutes to complete the 24 mile course (I rode it again three days later an did it 11 minutes faster without killing myself).  Then my runner struggled, turning in a 44 minute run (he's done the same course in 39 minutes after doing the full triathlon).  So we all suffered and learned alot.  I think that we'll do some more events this year.  It just frustrates me that we missed the top relay time by about a minute and I know that we could've been 15 minutes faster just by running a smarter race.  But it was alot of fun, still.

My runner is going to run the Boston Marathon latter this month, so after that we may look at doing another tri in May.

The relay Tri's are cool, total team effort. One of my former employees did Tris and Marathons, always did good in his age brackets. He trained with Paula Newbie Fraser and the guy(name escapes me right now) who'd done very well in the Ironman multiple times.
Now his body is worn out, just had hip replacement and knees cartlidge is almost gone too.
Win or loose its about having fun with it and finishing.

It was a great learning experience.  We'll do alot better at the next event.  It's also cool to have something to train for.
