Frigin cold and windy and snowing in Flagstaff :pissed

Done with Winter :finger

One good thing my back yard neighbor has an old 30 ft dead tree that finaly blew down :good

He won't get rid of it but at least it blew down

What a day! :eek

I took Mom to Costco this afternoon. While we were inside all hell broke loose, you could hear the rain, wind and thunder inside Costco..and we all know how noisy that place is. Got thru checkout and headed toward the door, which was jammed up with people waiting out the rain. It wasn't getting any better and I don't like being mushed by crowds, so we went out to the car. The parking lot was a river. In order to get to the car I had to cross an area with water rushing well over my ankles. Threw the stuff in the trunk, grabbed mom and we jumped in. The main exit was jammed so I headed the opposite way, figuring I'd whip a U turn up the road. Water was raging down the road, lightning was striking all over the place, it was hailing like mad and visibility was nil, so I pulled back into the parking lot. When it didn't let up I decided I wanted to try to get home before all the roads were impassable. I took surface streets since the 210 was already flooding, but the surface streets were completely under water too. It was pretty scary. It finally lightened up when we got close to home...until all hell broke loose again. I could see the lightning strikes hitting all around us...and then there was this great big BOOM that sent me flying out of my chair. Lightning hit a transformer down the street and it blew up. :eek

The fire department was racing to another call and saw the fire so they diverted. The street was blocked off for a few hours, not sure if it is opened yet or not.

Sure glad this didn't happen yesterday when i was hiking around Puddingstone Resevoir. :eek

Been raining all evening here. they just said on the news that we have had .80 inches of rain and looking for more. this should be a nice boost to the lake levels. They were syaing flag was getting snow and looking agt getting more. What a freaky weather patern for May!!!

not a drop in Havi...you could see lots of virga all around but nothing made it to the ground...........AHHHHHHHH it's nice and cool out :bowdown

We actually had a tornado touch down. 18 wheelers got blown over on the 215 shutting it down. And a train got blown over about a mile North of the New Eliminator building. Watching it on the news was kinda nerve racking. They showed it path on a map and it was coming right at us. Only got within a couple of miles then turned toward Elsinore.

There is several inches of new snow on top of Mt. Lemmon, and it's still coming down from the reports...

I'd love to have a block wall in the back yard, but I don't even want to think about how much it would cost. The rear property line is 120 feet... :eek

The old wood fence needs replaced though, regardless. It's going to be nothing but band-aid fixes before long...

Yesterday was blustery all day, wind blowing hard but no rain. I just went about my day like normal, pulling weeds and general yard maintenance. Oddly I thought I heard thunder but blew it off as the normal noise from Camp Pendelton manuevers.
Came inside for some lunch and turn on TV......suddenly the Emergency Bleep came on and they were saying flash flood warnings inland San Diego county, especially all the fire ravaged areas.
Wow! It kinda surprised me but then it all made sense. It ended up being a decent but windy day for me, got lots of gardening done. Late in the day the drizzles began to reach me but I enjoyed the cooldown from all the sweaty back breaking manual labor.

Today looks like winter, just a tad warmer.

Ain't life Grand? Treat it that way.

I Need To Put Up About Another 90' And My Yard Will Be Surrounded By Block......I Have Been Collecting Fence Block In Hopes That Some Day I Will Complete Yet Another Project......

They showed pics on the news of the area where Mom and I were...cars were submerged almost up to their roofs! :eek

Funny thing...bad weather makes people at Costco nicer. :laugh

Everyone was talking to each other, helping each other out since they were only on emergency lighting at that point. And some guy (maybe a costco employee) was handing out garbage bags so folks could cover their purchases and/or themselves.

It rained much of the night here but has only been sprinkling off and on during the day. But KFWB reported that it was raining all along the 210 here and that a big rig had jackknifed in Pasadena. Weird. Talk about hit and miss.

Trees blown down from the wind (duh) and 4 inches of snow on the ground. Snow pellets are falling right now, and we are expecting another 4 inches of snow tonight... 36 degrees and falling.....
