Thanks KC! :good

I'll check Costco again to see if it has returned, maybe there was just a major run on it.  If not, I just may take you up on your offer.  I can get it in the grocery store and Target, but the last bags I bought at Costco were $11 and change for 40 oz, and some of the stores are selling the wussie 12 oz bag for $10.99! :eek  :pissed

I do loves me some DD coffee. :D

Starbucks to close, a full list of 600 is revealed

Starbucks said Thursday that 600 stores of the coffee retailers, is closing nationwide as it trims expenses in an effort to boost profitability and its slumping stock price.

STORE CLOSURES BY STATE

Colorado: 9

Connecticut: 5

District Of Columbia: 1

Delaware: 1

Washington: 19

The closings are expected to run through the first half of Starbucks' fiscal year 2009 (which ends in September of that year, meaning that the company hopes to be done by March).

"Store partners will receive advance notice and more details from their leadership team once a specific closure date has been confirmed," Starbucks said in a statement.

The closures will affect about 12,000 employees. Starbucks says some will be offered positions at nearby stores that remain open. Those who aren't, both full and part time, will receive a severance payment based on job title and current pay. Starbucks stores average about 20 part-time employees.

Starbucks also said the list could change depending on such factors as store leases and the cost savings and tax benefits, if any, Starbucks calculates it will get from closings.

Starbucks Chief Executive Howard Schultz said economic slowing and a drop in per-store sales were behind the decision to close the locations, the bulk of which were opened in the past three years. The company is also reducing the pace at which it adds new stores, with fewer than 200 company-operated stores planned in the U.S. for fiscal year 2009.

The 600 stores represent about 8.5 percent of the company's U.S. total.

BEST COFFEE MADE FROM MONKEY POO; CRAPPUCCINO
DAILY STAR

Wed Nov 21 2001 10:22:30 ET Coffee drinkers are going bananas over a brew
that's made of MONKEY DUNG.
Brits are flooding exclusive US stockists with orders for the brew, called
Kopi Luwak, made from berries that have passed through the digestive
system of Indonesian monkeys. Unlucky coffee plantation staff have to
search through the dung to gather the bizarre "harvest" of coffee berries,
which are said to emerge virtually intact.

Experts reckon the monkey business gives the drink a unique "earthy"
taste, which has made it the most expensive and sought-after coffee in the
world.

It is in such short supply - just 500 lb of it is harvested a year - that
it is virtually impossible to get hold of in Britain and has only limited
availability in the States and Japan.

Experts say the brew first came to light hundreds of years ago, when
explorers sampled it on the Indonesian isles of Java, Sumatra and
Sulawesi.

The monkey - known as the Palm Toddy Cat - lives on a diet of alcoholic
tree sap and coffee berries.

US-based food and drink critic Chris Rubin said:

"Whether it's because the intestinal juices give some special flavour or
because it eats only perfectly ripe berries, the Toddy Cat's droppings
produce what many say is the world's finest coffee."

Some exclusive US outlets sell Kopi Luwak for around a FIVER a cup.

US Coffee supplier Mark Mountanos has snapped up 110 lb of the beans.

He said: "We've had interest from all over the world because it is very
hard to get hold of."

US coffee shop owner Richard Karno ordered a pound from Mark's firm - but
only after he convinced him it wasn't a joke.

He said: "It's the best coffee I've ever tasted. It smells musty, but it
roasts up real nice
