Comcast stuff seems like crap. Tivo seems pricey. Anybody doing either? I'm on Comcast, not going to any o the dishes. I want hard wired hookup.

The "key" is being able to both network the box to your computers, and burn your recordings on to disk for later viewing... :good

We have CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS, and you can't do either with their MOXIE BOX... :fight  :finger

I have Tivo that I no longer use. It's a shame too. I subscribed early and I have lifetime support for one unit.

I tried it with my DirectTv and there was a delay between switching, etc. So I just went with their DVRs and they are pretty good. The new ones are even better.

It's a fact of Life:

After Monday and Tuesday, even the Calendar says : WTF .......

Never used TiVo. Used to use TW cable DVRs. The DVRs worked OK, but their HD service got real bad, kept pixelating, and so I switched to Directv.

The HD service is good, but many times the DVR shows like it's recording while I'm watching another channel, then when I go to watch the recording, it's BLANK.   :banghead

I had technicians come out to the house several times, with no improvements, and changed boxes several times, before I finally decided to make the switch.

Glad they were able to fix it for you.   :good

We get "pixel'd" quite often, or loose the signal all-together.  I'll hafta ask about a signal booster... :good

I've got a Dish DVR... works well, though it records random programs.  

I'll pull up the list to watch something I scheduled to be recorded and there are two dozen "Design on a Dime" shows recorded.  Weird... though my house looks fabulous now.   :laugh

We got ta DVR from the cable company. Seems to work preetty well. I need to look into seeing if I can connect a recorder to save shows to a disc.

Don't laugh had the one we bought in the 70's up untill about a year ago sold it on ebay for $15.00 paid almost $1700.00. :eek It was cool had a wired remote and all that ;)

Our cable service has been 100% better since TW took over Adelphia.

I am not a Gynecologist, but I'll take a look.
