Bailout Bonuses! Posted by iceman | Posted in Bailout | Posted on 11-14-2008 STOP…If you are offended by crude foul language then DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER as I am not and will not apologize for what I am about to say.
As four of the largest banks on Wall Street prepare to shell out OVER THIRTY BILLION DOLLARS in bonuses, monies that they claim was set aside for that specific reason, we (MAIN STREET) are just supposed to be OK with this. Is our Government out of their FOCKIN MIND to swallow this BULL$HIT? If they had that money on hand then why in the FOCK did we have to bail them out. It seems like Wall Street can take care of their own and Main Street can just go FOCK THEMSELVES.
The Government tells Main Street how tough it’s going to be and yet not ONE FOCKIN DIME has hit Main Street. Paulson, Pelosi, Dodd, Frank, Waxman and the rest of the FOCKIN IDIOTS in Washington should be arrested for CONSPIRACY (relating to the manner in which they are taking this country down), given a fair trail and HUNG IN THE MORNING. These MORONS think of us as a bunch of fools. If these FIVE IDIOTS were to drop dead, MAIN STREET could then ask for a five day holiday and it would be justified.
If you ever watch the hearings regarding these BAILOUTS and the way Waxman, Dodd and Frank conduct the proceedings, we as MAIN STREET would be better off in court with JUDGE JUDY. I am just SOOOOOOOO FOCKIN tired of it all.
Obama said MAIN STREET needs bailed out yet he is pushing for the BIG 3 BAILOUT (SOME FOCKIN CHANGE). Get ready for the ride of your life!!!!!!!!!!!
Bill

Nancy Pelosi and the BIG 3 Bailout
While Nancy Pelosi pushes for the Bailout of the Big 3, I ask myself what side of her BED OF NAILS she got up on. Let me explain. If the Big 3 gets bailed out business will continue same as usual until they need more (and they will need more).
While bankruptcy doesn't mean loss of jobs, it simply lets companies undergo restructuring, trimming fat (overpaid CEO'S, EXCESSIVE BONUSES and the death grip of the UAW) . This is why the laws of bankruptcy were put in place (to save the jobs). By going through this process, the Big 3 would be able to put their products out on the market cheaper giving Americans the opportunity to buy AMERICAN MADE AUTOS at competitive pricing. Isn't that the goal?
Back to Nancy Pelosi. In Jan 2007 when the minimum wage went from 5.15 to 7.25, Pelosi had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del Monte would not have to pay the higher wage. This would make Del Monte products less expensive than their competitor's. Pelosi's district is San Francisco----StarKist (owned by Del Monte Foods) headquartered in San Francisco-----StarKist is the major employer in American Somoa employing 75% of the Samoa workforce. Paul Pelosi, Nancy's husband owns $17,000,000 in StarKist stock. So on one side she wants to shell out Billions of dollars to protect the policies of the UAW and BAD MANAGEMENT of the BIG 3, but on the other side she suppresses wages of workers making minimum wage for her personal gains. I guess Pelosi's outlook is keep the minimum wage tuna packer with nothing and the UAW and CEO'S of the Big 3 out pricing their own products and employees giving foreign completion more advantages daily. She is the PERFECT reason why politicians are viewed as WHORES. If the people of her district re-elect her another term then I feel that whole district should undergo treatment.

Will UAW wreck car company rescue? Posted Nov 17th 2008 12:12PM by Douglas McIntyre Filed under: Industry, Employees, Financial Crisis
The greatest hurdle to the recovery of the auto industry may not be the credit crisis or high gas prices. It may be the UAW. If it decides not to play ball as part of a federal government bailout, the $25 billion being proposed in an aid package may not be enough, and Congress may decide to abandon the plan completely, According to the FT, "The US United Auto Workers (UAW) union has ruled out concessions – at least for the time being – to help rescue the ailing Detroit-based car industry." Of course, the argument is deeply flawed and is the kind of logic that has helped bring the industry to its knees. Management blames labor. Labor blames management. Both blame the credit crisis. It is a neat circle which leads nowhere and does not do any of the parties any good.
Imagine being a member of Congress handing out billion of dollars that many taxpayers think should not go to an industry that has wounded itself and many economists say will not ultimately save the US car companies. If the parties who will get the benefit are fighting among themselves, the chance that a rescue can be successful is almost certain to be destroyed.
Detroit has shot itself in the foot. Now, it can move the gun to its head.

Well, ya know all those big wigs that sit behind a desk and do absolutely nothing that make a half a million a year, if they cut their salary down to reality, they might not have these problems!...

Thats true! What about this, do you remember back when the auto makers kept the body styles for a few years as it was to expensive to change them yearly. They don't need to change every little thing. It cost them alot of money to have molds made for every car that they sale. I know that the consumer wants new styles but the auto maker are just spoiling the consumer and the thing is not everyone in the US can afford to buy a new car every year or even every 5 years. What ever happend to people keeping their cars for more tha a year or two. My land lord still has his very first new car that he bought, 1966 dodge palara and it is in very good condition. It is the only car that he has and he still drives it all over the place.

I'm Not Too Sure About That. Remember Back When A Car Had 100K Miles On It And The Motor Was Worn Out?? Now They Go 200K Miles +...... |
Nope, they were wore out due to lack of maintenance, piston engine is a piston engine!. I had a 74 Ford van I bought from the original owner, when I sold it there was almost 300,000 on it never rebuilt, it was starting to get tired!...

The GM/Ford/Chrysler bailout is NOTHING more than a bailout for the United Auto Workers Union. Let's think about this for a second. The big 3 got into this predicament because they continued manufacturing vehicles when they were not selling. Â That means that they have ALOT of vehicles sitting for sale that they can't sell. Â But, because the UAW are faced with MANY layoffs, they are pushing the bailout BS because they want to keep their jobs.....Making MORE vehicles that will sit. It's the basic rules of supply and demand that apply here. Â If nobody is buying your product, maybe you need to quit making so much of it huh? DUH! I think it's quite interesting that Toyota USA and Honda USA are manufacturing vehicles in the USA and are not facing problems. Â And I'm pretty sure it's because the employment costs per hourly employee are 1/2 of the "Big 3". Â Of course, toyota and Honda are non union. Â And of course, the President of the UAW has came out and said they ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT give any concessions or renegotiate. Â I say fine....How do they like unemployment?
If my business fails, will the government bail me out too? Â Yeah....RIGHT!
