I thought the Rent a Ring thread was wedding related too when I first saw it. Hell, you can rent wedding dresses, why not rings? As Glassman said, works with the divorce rate. Heck, works for all the broken engagements too!
A friend of mine came to me for engagement ring advice. He'd been engaged, and called it off...got the ring back. He was planning on giving the same ring to his new g/f. Now I'm all for being practical...but that would really bug the $hit outta me, knowing he had bought the ring for someone else he was in love with, and was now recycling it. Talk about bad karma! He honestly couldn't see the problem...he thought he was being brilliant by saving that money for a new house. I love heirloom rings that are handed down through the family, but this just didn't fit the bill. Finally I just told him to ask her how she felt about it. Maybe she wouldn't care. Hmmm, haven't talked to him in awhile...wonder how it all went?
"This is for all the friends I've known, this is for all the ones who've never left me alone. This is for all the ones I've lost along the way...thanks for being a part of today."

I'm sure he will come around when his black eye go away.
