Thanks for sharing Art! Â
Boy, Jack Smith sure is looking good! Looks Like it was one helluva a turn out! Â
Yeah, over a 100 boats showed plus cars and bikes, not bad for an inaugural event, next year will be off the hook. They added a whole area down at the end for this, and they plan on putting in hook ups and showers in also!..

I'll have to look into that!
Needles Marina had a choke hold on the riverfront hook-ups. A lil' competition might bring the prices down a bit.

The Marina did this to themselves when they didn't want us to make passes in front of the place, so Billy went to Topock and the city got wind of that and contacted him and asked what it would take to keep us there, Billy told them and bada bing done deal, pretty cool huh!..

Hey, can't have your cake and eat it too!
Besides, the water gets flatter as you go south anyway...too many knuckleheads up by the bridge.
That's a great video......looks like the water level was pretty good.

Now that I have soaked my drool towel!! Â GREAT pic's!!! Â nice looking iron and glass for sure!!!!!!!
Here ya go, drool a little more!. The more I look at this stuff, the more I kick myself for selling mine!.. Â Â Â
Thanx for sharin' GFR! I really miss the "good old days" of open headers and "the River alarm clocks".
Nothing like camped out at Lapaz Park, as the daylight got brighter, there was nothing like hearing the first heathy, open header flatbottom firing and making a speed pass on the glass up or down the river.
I remember one early sunday morning my dad and I were sitting on a picnic bench enjoying the calm. We heard something but could not pin point what the sound was. We looked down river to see one of them boat cars cruising up the river. He turned and hit the launch ramp, dropped it in gear and hit the highway. The first think my dad said was, "could you imaigin some joker that got hammerd the night before and waking up to see that and not knowing what he was seeing". About then the silence was broken in fine river fasion as it should!!

I remember sitting on the launch ramp at Red Rock waiting for the sun to pop up over the hill. Best part is when the group that's camped next to the ramp came in at 2 in the morning all $hit faced and got to bed at 3:30 and are about to get a wake up call at 5:00am!..
