Very cool... People don't believe me when I tell them we "wake surfed" on our Dewey Webber's...

I wish I had heeded my first instincts! But what the hell; I would have just made myself look silly someplace else trying something else somewhere!
When I was a kid, my Dad use to build what we called "Crazy Boards", which were nothing more than a round piece of plywood about two feet in diameter, painted, and pulled behind the boat. They kinda resemble the "skurfers" used at the beaches nowadays only larger. You could only spin on them due to them having no bindings. My Dad was quite proficient at it.
Speaking of Dad; he weighed all of 147# soaking wet and could do the neatest trick because of that fact. He'd "thrust" himself up on a pair of skiis while stationary in the water and would slowly "sink", much like a cartoon, "saluting the captain" all the way down. Seemed like he'd stand there for at least a minute before sinking! Well; it was funny then! Guess you had to be there! Â

Buddy of mine had them as well. They were so good at it they would sit on a step-stool on this board while being towed around. Spent alot of time down at the old " Mike's Sky Rancho" place in Parker. Yep....the good ol days.

Dad never used a stool but could he ever spin while standing up on one! Us kids would get dizzy (OK, dizzier) just watching him! And all of this behind a 14ft. runabout w/a 40HP Scott outboard! We pulled three skiiers once w/that little monster. I guess the "horses" they used to gauge motors by back then were healthier than those today.

Had a guy in our group do much the same thing... Got 8mm video conversion around "somewhere"...
After 2 weeks at Shaver on vacation, we'd ski on anything...disk, oar, door, tobaggan...
