:angry
Fires me up everytime I think about it.
I maintain my mothers grave on a weekly basis, keeping it groom and primped as my mother kept herself, clean and orderly.
Affixed to her upright headstone I have a American flag....affixed is the key word here, mind you.
.
The cemetary where she lies has a large celebration every Memorial Day, and as it may be they set up a stage in the parking area near my mothers place of rest. Boyscouts are in attendance all day handing out free flags for guests. I went there around 11am Memerial Day to rake and trim the grass as I always do. Tuesday for some reason I decided to swing by and check on her.
Crap!!!! Some looser had to steal her flag :pissed  :pissed  The flag was gone, nowhere to be seen. What kind of person takes anothers flag when thousands where there for free from the boyscouts. I remind you it was affixed so it was no easy task to just grab it and go....they had to work to take it.
Perhaps I'm being petty, perhaps not..........it just chaps my hide to no end someone defaced my mothers gravesite...fricken disrespectful, theiven Patriot!  :beat

Geezus, I hate to think that someone woukd stoop that low, even today. But it wouldn't surprise me.

Could it have simply been a case of mistaken ID when they were removing the flags from the Memorial Day observation? You know; someone not paying attention or intelligent enough to realize that it was a permanent fixture and just removed it?

Sorry for your pain and feelings of disrespect.

I am so sorry, Zig. :(   I am hoping that gig is right and it was just a mistake, as opposed to a willfull act.  Unfortunately we've become a society that has no respect for anything or anyone.  People need to understand that things don't need to be valuable to have value and meaning to someone.

I hope it was that but I kinda doubt it due to the fact it would take more than just grabbing and tugging it out....I have it well attached so it wouldn't be easily taken or blown away by the winds.
