Thinking about a RV tow box for the family and don't have a clue on what's available. Just something to get out of town for a few days for some R'n'R.
No motorized toys (yet), just bicycles and stuff, but gotta have enough creature comforts so mama will come along.
Ideas/input welcome...

Thanks GFR....I'm gonna hit the RV places over the next few days...maybe look at renting one and see if that's the direction we want to go....I've just got a F-150 Supercrew with the 5.7 Triton, so that will limit me somewhat.

Quote (Sleek-Jet @ Dec. 07 2005,10:18 am) | Hey Shu, one thing to keep in mind is that Toy-haulers are very "tongue" heavy when not loaded with toys. Â I've known several people that have gotten rid of them because of this. Â
Also, if you want to keep the wife happy... two words... "slide out"... Â Â |
Thanks, Sleek...

One thing I don't like about them is they sit too high, I've seen them in moderate winds and they were moving around quite a bit!. Personally I'd rather have an enclosed trailer!.

That's a sweet rig  ....ya done good
Your right, get out there and shop.....esp. private parties...
When your really looking, it's amazing to see all the stuff that just sitting around in storage, un-used for years.... With a TT, I could always leave it at the river during the summer and haul around the boat....
BTW, I had to steal your "fossil fuels" line...and KC's "burn some flesh"... CLASSICS.... Â

I wasn't even looking. My brother knew the guy, he asked me if I knew anyone that was looking for a TT... I din't even plan on buying it at first, until I ran the numbers and found out what it was worth...
I didn't get to use it this last summer, do to several issues, but either I'm going to find a place to park it at the lake, or I'm going to store the boat up there and pull the trailer back and forth...

Too long... Â it's a 37 foot TT... nearly 40 with the toungue.. Â
Whoever designed this beast knew what they were doing, almost all of the weight is right over the axles, pulls like a smaller trailer. Â No swaying or wandering behind the truck, it just sucks in and trundles down the road. Â
Unfortunately, I can't pull the boat behind because it's not a fifth-wheel, and I would be waaaaaaaaaaay over length. Â

I kinda thought it was a little long from the pic just wasen't sure, that would be way too long for sure But if you weren't too long you could tow the boat if you used a pintle hook!..

The first connection has to be a fifth wheel hook up...... |
No it don't, if you tow two boats there's no 5th wheel, just can't have the same hitch on both!..

Quote (stingray @ Dec. 09 2005,4:01 am) | I know I've seen guys do it in Calif.
With a 24' travel and small boat or quad trailer. |
It's been done for ages, I remember back in the 80's a woman used to haul two race boats for this rich guy to the races all over the country for a living!..
