No worries, He's not driving yet, it has a ton done to it, but has a good sized list to undo and do right, and he has a list to make it his.

He has been driving my rock crawler over the last couple of years, and put good time into wrenching on it.

So he gets what the consequences are of beating on things and then fixing them.

But he is a boy, So all bets are off when he gets behind the wheel.

If I get him deeply enough vested in it, Maybe he will think twice before wading it up  :rotflmao  :rotflmao

Oh, and you see the cars in the background????

If he's a dumb A$$,

He'll be driving the little red one, and that will kill me, that's my baby.

My Parents Gave Us Our First Cars. None Of Them Were Anything Nice And Fancy, But They Were Road Worthy. They Paid The First Six Months On Insurance And The First Year Of Registration. After That, It Was Up To Us To Keep It All Taken Care Of.  If It Broke, We Were Responsible For Paying For And Getting It Fixed, And Borrowing One Of My Parents Cars Was Out Of The Question.....

I learned to drove in the folks car as well, BUT we also had drivers ED in high school. I drove more there then in the folks car. I don't remember my dad going with me. It was always my mom. Like Glen said. We were not allowed to drive the folks cars, and don't ask to.  :laugh

Mine was a 1956 Belair, I bought and paid for it, 327 dual quads,  divorced Parents, didn't really know what I had bought. I walked a lot of places.

The joke was it was the fastest car in the valley  A quarter mile at a time.

I'm lucky I didn't die in that car...

With the kid, only time will tell?? I take him driving every chance he gets, The clutch is working him some, but he rides dirt bikes, so he knows the concept. Chores and homework complete of course.

And every dirty job around the house???? he has no problem doing, but he always wants to negotiate a price..

Right now, he's working for free.

Well, he put 1 1/2 days into little stuff, Got it raised up about 2". Also adjusted the preload, checked brakes.

It has side skirts that really don't belong on the American cars. So there are no body fasteners????
So it is self tappers on the underside, and 3M VHB tape along the edge.
It looks like that's what the last guy used, but I think the tape was suspect, and maybe so was the prep. they seemed to come off quite easy.

He ordered a power steering return line that is leaking, and rear upper camber adjusters, and a better than stock, but not solid trans mount.

And so far both of our patients has been good.
