Well you could say both, it will have a blown 509 in it!. I would go with a 540 but I would have to get an aftermarket block, I already have an old thick wall truck block so I may as well use it and save the $$$$$$$ for other parts!. Â

Quote (Craig @ Nov. 15 2003,8:33 am) | "hunk of shit"...PLEASE Â I've looked at the pic's on your profile! Was this boat ever at Bergerons? Hey GFR you can use a standard GM 502 to get 540. Friend of mine had Larry Peto build him one for his Carrera. When I rebuilt mine, Peto asked if I wanted to do it with mine, but I already had the rotating assembly.

Nope, it never was at Bergerons. It was originally rigged by Bob Siebert back in the 80's. When Chuck bought a D'Cucci, they took all the hardware out and put it in the new one. When I got it, it was laying on the ground at his shop totally naked. I rigged the whole thing myself from scratch!..
Yeah I thought about a 502 block but those don't accept a standard front cover and they don't have provision for a mechanical fuel pump which I would need to feed a surge tank for the injector, otherwise I would go for that deal. But I can still get 1200 to 1500 hp with a 509 without straining the motor to much!. That should put me in the 110 to 115 mph easy!. That's good enough to start off with!..

Thanks Jim, I can't wait to get it done either!.
FKN Yahoo decided to change everything around and put all pics in "Yahoo Photos", I had them in "Briefcase". Of course the bastards never said nothing, only way I found out is when I went there and everything was gone!. So just go to my profile, I got the new link to it and click on "MY Boats". I'll be putting more pics of the build up as I go along so check in once in awhile!..

Damn Jim that sucks, I know about pushing the pedal. I can remember having to use my hand to push my leg down to push the clutch in a truck and seeing stars. Good thing you shift them without using the clutch!. You need to get away from them damn doctors and see a Chyropractor so he can fix you up!..
