After going two years without a boat (sold it when I got divorced ) I just picked this one up in March. I don't have the space or a decent tow vehicle to get much bigger, my last boat was a 28' Sleek, but this thing handles like a Vette. Not much top end, maybe 45 mph, but the 351 in it get you there quick.
I've been lurking around here for a couple of days, and this is a great site . Hope to see some of you at the river sometime, but Saguaro Lake is home every week. Later...

Thanks all!!! I wasn't sure how I'd like this boat after owning deep Vs for years, but I couldn't be happier (unless it had a stereo in it). Yeah, that's the next purchase, just a simple stereo for the lazy days on Sandy Beach.

I'd love to make it to Hooter's but gotta work. I don't ever get out to Pleasant, it's just too far. I live on the east side of Gilbert and for now I'm towing this thing with a little Ford Escape. It does pretty good going the ten miles to Saguaro, but much more than that becomes a chore. I've been looking at some new tow rigs but can't decide. Anybody got an opinion of the Hummers, H2 and the new H3? I know they're nothing more than Tahoes and Colorados with a bigger price tag but even the H3 would be better for towing then the Escape. Besides, my wife wants me to give the Ford to her.

Have you ever tried Bartlett?? As far as the Hummers go, If your going to go for a Hummer, go for the H1!! The rest are just imposters!! Just my opinion though!!

I like Bartlett, especially now that it has some water in it. Its still a bit of a drive for me. The biggest problem I've had towing with this vehicle is getting the boat out of the water. Ramp 1 at Saguaro isn't too bad but I've only got front wheel drive and it gets tough sometimes. I did decide that I need to set the backup brake lock when I load the boat. I think the boat pushing against the actuator is locking the trailer brakes and making it even harder to get out. As far as the Hummers go, they're all posers, but I kind of like the new H3's and about all I need it for is to tow the boat to the lake. I rarely drive, got a company car. The Escape is 2 1/2 years old and has about 10k on it. Maybe a Jeep? Midlife crisis?

How's this for a late reply? The boat actually does real well in light chop, but anything over a foot or so and it start getting pretty harsh. As for the reverse, it actually works quite well, I just had to get used to the rotational torque and compensate for it. It's easier than backing most jets.
