I have a Bravo 1 unit and the Trim Switch is on the throttle lever. The Trim in/down works just fine.. The Trim out/up does not work at all. I have replaced the trim sending units on Alpha Drive and I really do not want to do that on this unit. Could anyone give me some step by step ideas to help diagnose where the problem is? I appreciate any advice.. Thank You..

First off, do you have voltage going to the pump.

I have not 'tested' the voltage or any of the electrical connections.. But as I said.. the trim switch does operate when lowering or trimming in... so I guessing that I do have voltage Waterdog..Although I do not know if I have it at the pump from the switch for taking the outdrive up.. The pump is working because I can trim it up all the way up to the trailering position with the aux. trailer trim switch...

You have 3 wires going to the pump. One is a common ground, thats working. Then you have 2 12v wires to 2 different posts. One is up, the other is down. One of these is working. Which one is the question. Once you find which one, you'll check that solenoid, it could be bad. Keep in mind that not all the boats have solenoids. Some just run the 12v straight to the switch and back. What year is your boat. Your aux. switch working means the pump isn't broke. You have a seperate switch for all up or a two position switch on the thottle.

Thank you Waterdog.. I will go the pump and check the soleniods if I have them. In any case I will check for power at the two posts. Trying to answer your questions..My boat is 2003 model...As for the switch at the throttle.. I'd call it a two way.. it trims the outdrive from the full up position to the full down position.. and then it trim the outdrive up to the full trim out position only.. it does not take it up to full trailer position, that is done withthe aux. switch on the dash...

Hey Cliff, you get that trim switch figured out?? I have that exact same problem. I have yet to look into it, just been using the trailer auxiliary to bring it back up.

Maybe after loading it on the trailer and before exiting the water on the launch ramp.  Boats and boaters have a 10000 stories and questions.   :good
