Art,Question for you I've been talking to acouple for head shop's and they are kinda steering me towards after market head's like Topline & World, they say these heads need less work as far as clean up also they can make more power than  the 990's?? :stupid  :stupid  :stupid

They are right, they do make more power, just depends on the budget. If all you do is put good valves in then it would be cheaper but they really need to be cleaned up. Unless you do it yourself the cost would bring it up to about the same as the aftermarkets and still not be as good!. If the budget allows, I'd go for the aftermatkets myself, I'd stick with an iron head though!. :good

ART,I think i'm finally making some head way...............I'm going with the World Merlin 320 head's (Iron)119cc,Isky Z89 cam with 633 lift on the exhaust and Intake and a set of JE Piston's that should put me around 11.5-1 this should help me see 40mph I hope :good  :D  :)

Sounds like a good mix, think you'll be able to run pump gas around 92 octane? Or going the good stuff and crank the timing to the max :good

Steve, good choice on the heads!. :good Personally and I mean pesonally, I wouldn't give a dime for that cam, I've used it before, in fact 3 of them after being wiped out on the break in!. :angry especially with those heads you will not benefit from them with that cam, but that's up to you!.. :good Now the compression will depend on a few things. If the pistons are 11.5 to 1, check the paperwork and see what the specs are to achieve that compression, piston deck hight, chamber CC's, head gasket CC's and thickness. Since you're using the same block, it may have been cut at one time and you may have to juggle things around to get the desired compression!..Just wanted you to be aware of it!..Good luck!.. :good  :good  :beer

ART,Which Cam would you recommend?I'm aware of the Compression change depending on the Motor and what thing's cc out as I'm going to start out with the 11.5-1 Piston's I'm shooting for anywhere between 11-1 to 11.5-1. :)
AZKC I already have my timing set at 36 degree's advanced  as it is now and I run Pump 92 Oct with a Additive or Mixed with AV Gas now  :stupid The thing's I have to do to reach 37.5 mph......It's Amazing  :beer  :rotflmao  :)

I've had this cam for 12 years, for a solid it's great it pulls like gangbusters from 3500 on up and it's easy on parts, I'm on my second set of springs only. But you need 12:5 to 1 though because of the overlap it bleeds of compression. With 12:5 to 1 I still ran a 50/50 mix and 36 lead with no problems whatsoever. Those heads you picked out need a cam with lift so they can benefit from thier flow capabilities!.. :good
