The gelcoat on my '78 Eliminator is all original and it's starting to get a little dull in spots, so my question to the experts is:

What can a cheap bastard like me use to make it all pretty again?  :drink

I don't know....That stuff I got from Warlock25 worked pretty good.  The boat hasn't been waxed in 15 years and was sitting out uncovered for about 4 years in the mountains.  I took some of that Wax Frenzy stuff to it and it cleaned it right up!  It hasn't shined like this since I've owned it and I didn't even have to work the stuff in.....just applied it and wiped it off.  Here's his website for the wax frenzy stuff http://www.attn-to-detail.com/  It's kinda pricey, but it worked for me. :good

Doesn't rubbing compound scratch it up a bit?

When it's totally oxidized it takes it off, the second one is finer and the third one is the polish!.. :good

Thanks guys, I think what Art is using is what I'll need to go with for starters, but that Wax Frenzy looks like some good shit for the long term.  :good

Art, do I pick this up at an auto body supply store?

Yeah that's where I got it. :good But you don't need that much, I was surprised how much a few drops will do, there's probably enough left to do 5 more boats. It comes in smaller containers, the stuff ain't the cheapest but it sure takes the oxidation out!.. :good

Yeah, this ought to do the trick. Aside from a couple hairline cracks, my gelcoat is damn near like new.  :)
