OK, so after much searching and self debating, I'm going to rebuild the 390 and put it back in the Campbell. So, I have a little question about what cam grind I should go with.
After playing with the desk top dyno for the last week or so I've found a combo that seems will work well.
Motor specs: 390 .060 over, Speed Pro flat top forged pistons, composite gaskets with .038 compression thikness should yeild about 11.5:1 compretion. Offy high rise dual plane manifold and a holley 750 cfm double pumper. And of course a mag.
Cam specs are: Mechanical .559/.572 intake/exhaust on a 106* intake centerline and 300*/310* advertised duration (237*/247* duration at .050"), Lobe seperation is 110*, but while playing on the dyno if I stretch it to 112*, the torque curve really flattens out accross the opperating range of the cam.
On the computer, this combo yields 494 ft/lbs @ 3500 and 423 hp at 5000. the torque curve stays flat between 2500 and 5000 rpm (within 40 ft/lbs).
So, good bad, any suggestion??

You can just send the motor file, I've got their "Cam' disk so I'm sure I've got the profile!.. Yeah without actual flow numbers it's hard to zero in on it but you can get a good ballpark figure good enough to give you an idea of what you'll have!..

Quote (Sleek-Jet @ Sep. 04 2004,2:06 pm) | Art, it no worky. Â I get an error message saying that the file wasn't created with my version of DT Dyno. Â
Anyway you could post the cam specs?? Â I'll punch them in and see what happens. Â |
That's weird that's what I got, remember I asked you what version you had!. But if you open the program and then open the file it loads up!.. Oh btw, I found my records on my old stuff and on my 406 I ran the factory "B" cam, that was good all around cam!...
