So its time to start working on the boat again. Picked up a set of "virgin" 049 heads off Ebay. Have the stock bore short block. We'll get all the pieces together and try this one more time. Actually this maybe left to the Pro's this time Becky's getting tired of paddling. :beat :banghead   :laugh

No problem, I did the same thing. There will be a slight lip left after the cut and all that needs to be done is to blend it in when you do a clean up on the ports!.. :good

Do 049's run the hardened exhaust seats??  Might just be easier to have new seats cut in as it is.

The valves won't be sunk in, that lip will be right behind the valve on both, it's part of the port!. :)

Sorry wrong theory :laugh that would work if you had square port heads and zinging the motor 7500. If you did that with the ovals you would have to do extensive porting to make it work and then it would still be out of your rpm range. Go with the 2.19 and 1.88's and do a clean up on all the ports(especially the exhausts) and polish the chambers and you will have a torque monster up to 6500!.. :)  :good  :good
