Actually, any engine should be built along those guide lines and since he's using all those cool high dollar parts, there's actually less prep involved than if you were to use factory parts (like I have to use, yuk)!.. :eek  :D

Try using used parts, now thats a real challange :D  I shade tree'd the hell out of this last one I built, sometimes I get away with it sometimes not

If I had an unlimited budget I would do things his way. But lets face it, for someone who is just rebuilding their boat engine as a project the specialty tools are a little expensive. I have a lot of measurement tools and a fairly extensive shop. But I do not have a bore gauge or some of the other specialized tools that he uses. I just don’t have the budget to buy those tools.

But it is a very informative set of posts and I have learned a lot from them.  :)

Hey I hear ya, it took a long time to accumilate the stuff I have, but the stuff sure pays for itself after a while!. And just the fact that YOU know that it's done right and not hoping that it's done right by someone that you paid to do it right!, that's a good feeling!..  :)
