In my never ending quest to save a little on my project, I have come up with the idea of using SS water plumbing lines (like for under your sink) for plumbing fuel. I have lots of this stuff laying around. My question is obvious. Is this a good idea? Or is there something special about fuel lines?

Theoretically, it should work.  The biggest challenge will be fitting selection, and availability.  PLumbing parts are usually pipe thread.  The temp ratings shouldn't be an issue, and it's only water......try it!

I'm no chemist, but it seems like there might be some degradation or swelling of the rubber when saturated with fuel.  I don't think fuel line rated rubber and water line rubber is the same.

GoFast, you can step in any time now since you are the expert. :D

NO, they won't work,  You need a hose with a Nitrile tube at the minimum.  I was thinking you were going to soley use them for water.  :stupid
