Quote (miller19j @ Nov. 28 2004,3:45 pm) | Well I finally did it. I decided to re plumb my lines to hard wall stainless. Boy was that a pain in the ass. What I thought would take a few hours took the better part of the weekend. But it is done now.
Oh art you will be happy to know that the engine cover still fits with the new lines Â

Yeah we hate the fact that we can't see it!.
Shouldn't have any leaks as long as you didn't do any double flares, that don't work with stainless!...
The silicone should work as long as the logs aren't warped, a problem when using gaskets!. When mounting them directly, both surfaces must be straight and clean, all it takes is a piece of carbon and they won't seal, can be very annoying!..

Yeah gaskets are not meant to be used with those just like factory cast iron manifolds, no gaskets.. If the logs are perfectly straight and the head surface is clean you can use silicone to fill the imperfections (scratches), just don't put a bead around the ports, just smear some across the surface with your finger to fill the imperfections and you'll be good to go!..
