Just got back from the river, and I just blew my engine :angry   Just cruizing along, minding my own business and from the sound of it, I broke a valve and chewed up some things along the way...

So now I need to figure out how I can get a 502 gen VI built in a hurry...  Any suggestions???

Anyone know of a good shop in the Needles Area???

Hey GFR or anyone..  My engine was a GM performance 502/502HP crate motor...  Is there anything else that I can build out of it, like a stroker?  Or is that block already pretty much pushed out???

Oh you can go bigger :D I think Flatlander Racing has a stroker kit for the 502.

How old was your 502 that broke? Sorry to here about it. Its amazing how things seem just fine and BAM :break You can always pick up Chevys new 572 monster motor but it is spendy.

the motor was about 3 years old... I have yet to tear it apart to figure out what truly went wrong... Didnt have the heart at the time...  But it was a 502/502hp GM perf crate motor, which makes me a little supprised to hear that god awful metalallic grinding that it made before it seized :(  Sounded like a valve broke and started grinding away!

Ohh well, Im thinking one of those 509 merlin engines from summit...  Any thoughts???

I really would like to have a blown engine but Im not sure if there is such a thing as a blown daily driver...  I need an enginer that I can drive all the time without constantly wrenching on it...

But if anyone knows of something good to do to my 502 block Im all ears!!!!!!

If the bore is good you can stroke it, call Scot at Dyno-Flo he'll put a kit together for ya cheaper than anybody else can, I used one already and I'll be getting another one when I build the turbo motor!.. :good  :good  :jumpie

If you're going to up the power you need to tune the pump accordingly or it will be a waste of time and money!.. :)
