Well I took the GMT to Apache and GPS'd it. I got 68.4mph @ 6400 RPM. 6700rpm is what I was told to keep the motor under. I have a 22 chopper on there right now and if I don't lift at 6400pm It would have gernaded. I think I would like to get a bigger wheel but I am not sure what type and pitch is going to fit the bill. The boat and motor are supposed to weigh around 1200lbs. Its on plane in about 3 sec, I didn't time it to top speed. It feels like it gets there quick to me...prob not up to GFR's standards Anybody got exp or advice on it? Props are expensive to rotate through.

Well I'm not familiar with your boat so I'm not even going to suggest which way to go, but it's still a prop and size power and gearing is always a factor. The ones to talk to would be Ron and Chad Hill, they been around forever and know their shit and they can set you straight!..

Thanks Art. I sent them an email. I'll see what they say. I figure I need a 24 or so with things the way the are but, I don't know what type. That should get me up into the mid to high 70's and still have some kind of hole shot.

I never heard anything back from the Hill brothers but, I think my email was screwed up at the time. I'll try agn. In the mean time I got some advice from some fast wackers and they say I should be able to wind the merc up some more and definitely a bigger prop. I am going to keep on working on this stuff b4 I decide to play with the big blocks. Â Â
