I'm going to be adding a new intake, carb and heads, plus installing an MSD Distributor and box. Maybe upgrade the cam too. Mike VG

Quote (AZKC @ Jan. 10 2003,1:18 pm) | Miller, I feel your pain I started just going to do the bottom end. Now its bigger cam, new valve springs, match porting and so on. I'm going to do all work just so I don't blame anybody else when it implodes Â

Yea I thought I would get some new pistons and a cam. Now its new pistons, new cam/lifters, new valve springs, new valves, new timing chain, new oil pump, bla, bla, bla. Well I guess it will be a pretty nice motor when I am done.

It was recently overhauled, although for some reason I'm thinking the rings didn't seat right or something along those lines as I'm getting some oil blown out of the breathers. I'd like to run though it and re-ring it, with Total Seals like I originally wanted to do and see what happens. Other than that I've just been working on getting the carb dialed in as it's still going flat up top, like it's running out of fuel. I went from a 7.5:1 compression motor to around a 10:1 so it's a matter of playing with the carb and getting it all set up. I'm just taking a break from messing with it right now. I am thinking sometime in the future of either looking more into that 572 crate motor that Chevy is going to be putting out, or building some n/a big displacement sleeper motor for it. Or I could go an entirely different route and throw an 8-71 on top of a motor and be done with it. I kinda like the sleeper method though.
