My trailer has plywood panels covered with foam and vinyl that are on the backside of the fenders. I guess they did that do you could bang your way on to the trailer at a steep ramp. They are rotten and I had to replace them before our trip to the river and I didn't have a lot of time. So, I used them as patterns on 1/2 inch plywood and used Man O' War marine varnish to seal them. I'm not going to worry about the foam an vinyl now. I am just going to hang those on there with stainless hardware for now. Do you guys think that Man O War will work good enough? Two coats???

Should do the trick.  I would just wrap them with some marine carpet and be done with it.  :good

Those fender liners also keep the tires and road grime off the boat... right Kevin??? :D

They also save the side of the boat if you go on a river, sometimes the current gets to moving pretty good and the boat ends up along the fender when you put it on!..

Man O War works great, when I bought my trailer new back in 85 I noticed they didn't put anything on the wood, so I took them apart and put 4 coats on them and put them back together and they been on ever since and they're still in decent shape, replaced the vinyl once though!.. Whatever you use don't use carpeting, that is a magnet for sand and crud and it will just like using 180 grit on the side of the boat if you rub up against it. I just go to a fabric shop and get cheap vinyl, it lasts a long time!.. :good

I was going to just run w/ the wood (really short on time), but I am going to the river so I guess I better stop and get some vinyl. Damn it now I am going to have to find my staple gun!!

Hey Focker leave me out of this :laugh There is a story behind mine but it pisses me off every time I think about it.

I have had mine off for a couple of years cause a freind wrecked my trailer a while ago and had to replace the axle he bent, well at the time I did not notice it was about an inch narrower. So later when I replaced my rims they had a little different offset and I didn't notice that either. Well going to the lake one trip the tire rubbed on the wood popping the tire and catching the wood on fire :eek  :banghead and damaging the other tire. And of course no spares.  :rotflmao Thats when I started carring 2 spares. When I put them back on I'm going to have to use wheel spacers to patch the problem :angry
