If anyone in SoCal(or anywhere for that matter) is contemplating getting stuff annoed, I strongly recommend these guys. This is the fourth time I've used them, 2 boats and misc shit. They do fantastic work and the "Customer Service" couldn't be better!. They lost their ass on this job!. It cost me $130 to do the manifold and bells. I told them I needed it back quick so they sent it back with instructions how to clean it(hose it down with cold water). Apparently, there was something in the manifold that had a reaction and the anno didn't stick. Called them and they never questioned it, they said send it back overnight ($97) they finally had to bead blast it to make it stick, they sent it back overnight($97) so I could have it in time, how's that for customer service!!..

Wow that looks really nice. I love all that purple it really looks good. Did you have them clear or grey anodize the manifold?

Thanks Miller, the whole thing was supposed to be black like the tops but, for some reason the manifold had some kind of chemical on it (it was painted a puky color) that wouldn't come out, they even soaked it for two days and the anno still wouldn't stick so they had to bead blast it to seal up the pores, that's why it came out a grayish color. I was going to send the tops back to get them done the same way but when I took it to Needles, everyone thought it looked cool the way it was and it was different. The more I look at it, the more I think I will leave them the way they are too!... :)

I would say leave it. I think that it looks cool.

It is funny how anodizing takes differently on different surfaces. I had a part that a machinist accidentally put an extra hole in. He put a plug in the whole made from the same piece of stock he started the original part with and it came out a different color when anodized. Go figure…

Well, that settles it, it stays!.. :laugh . Yeah it's weird how it works especially with castings, even alloys of the same number can be different, that's why you have to be careful when make stuff, if you have two pieces side by side, you need to make sure it comes of the same piece of stock or you may end up with two different shades next to each other, man I learned that the hard way!.. :eek
