Well my Father brought the crank in to see what it is going to take to get it ready for my motor. They gave him two options and I can't for the life of me remember the name of the work they want to do on the crank so I will try to describe. Option one was some $100 to get the crank in usable shape. Option 2 was to "Index" (yeah thats the word!;) the crank for $180 I believe. My Dad thinks that because "It won't be under much strain in a boat" that we don't need to get it indexed. What do we really need? My Dad also thinks that the couple small scratches in the cylendar bore are ok because again "It's only going to be in a boat". Now my Dad is no expert in motors, but is a machinist. I just need to know if I need to set him straight on this! Yes, it is "only a ski boat" until I can find a new hull (V-Drive maybe  :good  ) but I like to get on the gas and I dont want this motor to blow!

While I'm on a roll, how do I get the pistons to loosen up where they join the rods? They seem real stiff. We also had the rods reworked, and they are ready to go! The block just came back from being honed and has been tanked and ready to go!

I need to get these parts over so you can check them out Art so we can figure out what needs to be done to those heads and the rest of these parts. I also need to pick a cam etc.

Billy, it would take 3 pages to go over this and you wouldn't be any farther than you are now!.. If you can bring the stuff over this weekend I'll take a look at it and measure it up and see what you really need to do with it, damn hope you got better stuff than the last time!.. Let me know!..
