About 30min of sitting after several hours of boating I started the boat back up and the alarm bell went off and noticed the temp. pegged. Nothing looks to be blocking the intake ports on the outdrive.  I was going to start with replacing the impeller, but not sure were its at.  Can someone help

The water pump is usually mounted on the right side of the motor. It's belt driven. Getting to it depends on the boat, and the access that they left.

You need to remove the pump and diassemble it. Them replace the impeller. Before you reinstall it, you will need to backfush the lines to clear any of the old impeller parts. That can be done by following the lines to the oil cooler and up to the intake maifold, removing the hose, and using your garden hose, running water back towards where the water pump goes.

Then reassemble. Clear as mud??  :stupid  The only really hard part is getting to the pump.  :D

Here is a great website that I have found that can help you diagnose and fix the problem. Good luck.
