I have the Quicksilver COMMANDER 3000 CLASSIC shifter that has an issue with the Nutral Throtle only button.  The button is stickey and takes a little feness to get it to go to throttle only mode.  How do I get the button out to clean, lube or adjust it?

:rotflmao   Yea Thats the Ticket!!  :D  :good

I'm going to take a gander at it this evening depending on what the winds are doing when I get home.  I can't imagin it being to serius.  A little stickey when pushing it in to get throttle only,  Pops right back out when released seems to be a good sign so far.

Well I got it apart and found some crud in and on the shaft from the knob and just inside the handle.  I lightly took a couple q-tips and drug some crude out of the hole the the knob slides into.  I gave a quick shot of silicon spray in the hole and put it back tegether.  Seems to be a whole lot better but now you have to give th shifter a little jiggle sometimes to get the shifter to release the button totaly.  Once we get back from this weekends adventures I will pull the handle.  Just may need a little house cleaning after 8 years.  :cool

If you can afford it I would replace it. That’s what I did. The button on my quicksilver stuck for no apparent reason. No more reason than what you have described as maybe some dirt or wear & tear in the unit. I felt there were to many mechanical functions inside one unit to give reliable service.

I installed the “In Control” brand split unit and put the trim and trailer buttons on the wheel and dash. It’s much nicer to use. It installs very easy if you have a mercury drive. I don’t know how well it works on other drive units.
