There is a big Get Together at Camp Far West Reservoir every New Years Day.  Camp Far West is a few miles from Sacramento.  Some of the nicest boats in the World will be there along with lots of food, booze, and fun.  Bring your boat or come without it.....either way you will have a GREAT time!  There are many campsites available also if you are planning on staying a few days and there are also many hotels within a 30 mile radius.
