Stop by and say hi to the Avalanch Off-Road guys if they are there.  I worked with Steve Rumore's mother in Durango, very cool people.   :beer

About 45min-1hour south of Victorville.  Near Lucerne.  You should be able to find Lucerne or Lucerne Valley (town) on a map.

Can I find more information on-line somewhere?
Is it an overnight event?
Kid friendly?

calrocs web site

It is kid friendly and the event is two days long (but it's not necessary to see both days)  We'll be heading out sometime Friday.

Yes.  We are camping with some friends.  I don't know what we're driving out there yet, but when I do, I'll let you know.

Beer Hunter,
You are in my neck of the woods. Do you drive the "Main Devide"?

Are you going to this event? Maybe I could follow.

No, Surprise Canyon is located out near Death Valley near the town of Ballarat and the trail actually goes up to the old town of Panamint City. :good   Pretty cool run! :good

I'm not sure what the "Main Devide" is but we certainly do live close to each other.  I live in Wagon Wheel Canyon at the end of Oso just outside the south gate of Coto De Caza :)

I'm not sure if I will make it but it does look like fun to watch.  If I can make it I'll PM you to set something up so we can caravan out there together :good

:rotflmao  :rotflmao  :rotflmao   I kind of doubt it, that CJ-7 I had (low gears and lockers front and rear) wouldn't make it over a lot of the obstacles these guy are doing now :D   Nice looking truck though! :good  :good  :good

Beerhunter, is the name of your club 4play?  The plaque looks familiar, but I can't quite make it out.  We used to jeep occassionally with some members of that club a hundred years ago--well, maybe only fifteen.

You're welcome to camp near us ( my you're brave! ) .  Our jeep is getting the rearend built right now, so it probably won't be going with us.  Camping is free as far as I know, but admission is $10.  How old are your kids?  We'll have a five year old, two seven year olds, and one eleven-going-on- sixteen year old

I sold the Jeep about six years ago, but yes, I was very active with Orange County 4 Play and also belonged to Capo Valley 4 Wheelers  :good  :good

Sounds like this could be a good get away for the whole family. I know that we have always wanted to go for a while now and watch the ROCK CRAWLERS. I hope we all can make it.

Hey there Mr. Ectosource
Do ya think we should ge some rockets ready too?
It might be kind of cool to launch.. :stupid
