Looking for any info on where to go on the CO River between Yuma, and up to an hour north of Blythe. I've been to Lake Martinez, just south of Palos Verdes and Mayflower County Park.
Looking for an area with at least electricity for the RV's and a stretch of River suitable for my boat. We do inflatables, park it on sand bars and float down river chillin in the water. Mayflower County Park is a nice park, but the stretch of river there blows for anything other than Jet Skiis and flat bottom jets. Plus there is no where to park boat during the day, the lagoon is dry and beach is all about 15 ft. wide. Lake M doesn't rent RV sites during the summer.
Also, how far away is the "Parker Strip" from San Diego?
Any ideas? Thanks!

An hour north of Blythe would put you at the Parker strip. I dont go to that section of river very often but alot of the other HDF peeps do :good I know there are alot of RV parks but thats about all I know. Maybe someone else can point you in the right direction for lodging.
Good Luck :beer

Unless you're running a jet I wouldn't even dare to go out in Blythe. Shallow with a lot of sandbars and submerged debris. Not recommended for the novice. There are a few places north of Blythe - Lost Lake Resort, Aha Quin, Water Wheel, to name a few

I've seen those places while passing thru on other non boat trips.
How would each of them be rated for camping, and how is the stretch of river near each?
Yes, the section in front of Mayflower and Hidden Beaches really sucks for anything other than jets.
Does anyone have feedback on Squaw Lake, Havasu Landing, Crazy Horse, Cattail Cove and the river near each. Been boating for 5 yrs, but am looking for new places to go. Thanks!

I only stayed at Big River one time, but I really liked it.  It's a nice fast drive down to the Lost Lake sand bar or up to the dam.

I have stayed at Twin Palms a few times.  Cool place.

My friends have a place at Aha Quin.  There is a store with a restaurant and bar.  They have a little island right off of the launch ramp.  Really nice area with a couple of nice sand bars to party/eat lunch/throw horse shoes/etc...

I have stayed at Havasu Landing before and had a great time.  Hardly any waiting to launch, restaurant, Casino, etc...

Have fun...

Check out this place.  http://www.destinyrv.com/blythe.html

I know HDD goes there once a year.

I dont' think Squaw has hookups.  Hidden Shores does, I believe.

Check out the RRL Lower River section.

new to the board, looks like a ton o' fun here  :drink .
I also am looking into the north of blythe - south of parker stretch just for a day trip (a long day) with the  :grouphug . I'm comin' out from riverside and don't want to spend anymore time on the road than necessary. I have an I/O and wanted to get some feedback on the best place to run tubes for the kids. Never been anywhere 'cept Parker an the Zoo.
My guess is Aha Quinn. Whadaya think?

So would Aha Quin and south to the dam be the safest route for an 18 footer I/O and does anyone know what time of morning that the water comes up to launch in that spot??

I wouldent run a IO north of blyth out of Aha Quin area. Lots of rocks. My old man has a OI an runs out of Hidden beaches. I have a wacker an havent had any problems south of the bridge at the 10 freeway.Thay  have pull throws for weekend rent. Or I have a space at River Brezze. Thay also have pull throw's an theres a couple of guy's with park model's for rent. Rivera across the rive has the same thing. Thay just put in 6 new park models last year. Blyth is nice. Not a lot to do around town. The water is good from about 8:00 am till about 6 an then head to camp for BBQ an Beer's. Let the kid's play. I would say that River Breeze an rivera are the to best Parks in the lower Blythe are. If you stay In town an want to cheack out the Aha Quin area you can launch from Aha Quin. just have to watch tohe water leval. Drops pretty fast up there. Good luck. If your around River Breeze stop buy Space 15 For a cold one.
