The water has been running pretty high lately; have not seen any reports of problems...
There will be plenty of big boats out that week-end as well for the Poker Run. I say the "middle" and follow someone else.... Â "Trim It High and Let It Fly"....

Quote (lakebound @ April 18 2007,2:05 pm) | Thanks for the input.  I've been hearing horror  stories on trying to launch at Havasu Marina. Any tips on that whole issue. Again any tips would be apreciated |
Never had any problems...it's actually the best place to launch, protected from the wind...
I read stuff that they have a length limit....32' or 36' Â Â and check for mufflers and such...

My boats got a pretty deep V, about 3.5 of draft. When going to the sand bar or topock, I stay on the California side and try to keep it as much centered in the waterways as possible and watch oncoming boaters. I have got stuck on the Arizona side before in a smaller boat plus you have to stay closer to the Arizona end rather than keeping in the middle.
My depth finder usually reads around 3-4 feet when going through that split. However when I go faster than 50mph then my depth finder doesn't work at fast speeds.
Stay California side "Trim up and Throttle Down"

ok, I went thru topock several times last week, from moabi and then back from london bridge,. lots of boats were stuck in sand. we were guided out, going north stay to the right of the marshy island about 20 feet off shore, and you will be fine. north end of havasu you will see in the middle that marshy island. every boat got stuck, even those that bragged they would not. a local came out and guided us thru, for a beer, carry plenty of beer I live near bullhead and most of my boating is on mojave, but, am starting to like havasu. so, this is real info, which will save your day.
