This is a web pic of the Marina area, ya know I'll have some pics when we get back, and this is a bit more of a party lake so who knows what they will be like   :cool

We made it up to the lake and really enjoyed our selves on Saturday pretty much on the water all day. Went from one end to the other stopping at some of our favorite spots and found some new ones.

This is where we had lunch, the water is green here to like at Roosevelt. Speaking of ....

Heres a pic of Roosevelt dam from the Apache side

Headed to Party Cove after lunch, it was full at the beach, and a few of the boats were stuck.

Headed  back to the room to clean up and get some grub. Heres the view from Room 218 @ Apache Lake Resort...

Heres the Webshot link for the rest of the photos
Apache Lake Pics

And of course some drama. Stay tuned :angry

Hey KC, sorry I missed you guys, I saw you heading back from the lake early, hope you didn't break anything!. :( Hope you guys had fun!. ;)

Yeah we bailed early, Sunday morning started with this

We took off Sunday am and pulled into a cove, boat was running fine but when I let off the gas the boat just died :confused so I try to refire it, ain't happening  :angry BC is taking it in stride, she knows I can probably get it handled.
So I start cking stuff out, carbs got fuel, I've got power at the dist, blah blah... still won't fire. I'm getting a little panicked and we are being blown deep into a hidden cove. So I have Becky do the distress thing with the 2 ski flags, and most of the boats go  by either not seeing us or not wanting to help. Then these guys went by(way on the other side of the lake) but I hear them slow down and turn around, and tow us about 1/2 hour back to the marina. Very cool of them, they wouldn't even take gas money and it made me feel better to have Becky back on land.

So we get it on the trailer and I start cking stuff and when I cked for spark at the plug(which was fine) it acted like it wanted to fire. hmmmm acting like it was flooded, didnt seem like there was alot of gas in the carb when it quit but what the hell. So I floor the gas and start cranking, bitch fires up flooded really bad. Then I see why, frikin gas runnin out of the primarys like a river, pulled the needle out and a piece of rust was holding it open  :angry

And then I get it running back to normal, and guess what...I hear something  :eek I'm pretty sure I've got a rod bearing out its knocking pretty good, and I saw some oil pressure dropping when we would come down after long runs. Ironic that if the carb had not freaked out, I probably would not  have heard the knock and put a rod out the block.

Becky felt bad for me and I for her(it was her b-day) She took all the crap better than I did. So we headed home.

K"back to the drawing board"C

KC, that sucks. :(  Glad you had a good day Saturday, though.

Good to see somebody stopped to help, it seems that more and more people aren't helping out on the lakes anymore. :angry

Any autopsy performed yet?  We'll be waiting to here what you found.

Damn, you just freshened that thing up too didn't ya!. After you tear it down, post some pics of it. If you can't figure it out, be glad to help ya all I can!... :(

Thanks guys, going to make a final guess today and decide what to do. I'm thinking of just popping in a new short block and swapping over my stuff. Any hook ups on short blocks(not to fancy) in the PHX area GFR?
I really like the power band/torque of this combo. Cruises nice and it makes Becky beat the hell out of my arm when haulin ass   :drink I never got it over 4500 rpm and it was gettin it real good with 1000rpm to go.
