Quote (GoFastRacer @ May 11 2003,8:23 pm) | Hey KC, sorry I missed you guys, I saw you heading back from the lake early, hope you didn't break anything!. Hope you guys had fun!. |
Yeah we bailed early, Sunday morning started with this
We took off Sunday am and pulled into a cove, boat was running fine but when I let off the gas the boat just died so I try to refire it, ain't happening  BC is taking it in stride, she knows I can probably get it handled. So I start cking stuff out, carbs got fuel, I've got power at the dist, blah blah... still won't fire. I'm getting a little panicked and we are being blown deep into a hidden cove. So I have Becky do the distress thing with the 2 ski flags, and most of the boats go  by either not seeing us or not wanting to help. Then these guys went by(way on the other side of the lake) but I hear them slow down and turn around, and tow us about 1/2 hour back to the marina. Very cool of them, they wouldn't even take gas money and it made me feel better to have Becky back on land.
So we get it on the trailer and I start cking stuff and when I cked for spark at the plug(which was fine) it acted like it wanted to fire. hmmmm acting like it was flooded, didnt seem like there was alot of gas in the carb when it quit but what the hell. So I floor the gas and start cranking, bitch fires up flooded really bad. Then I see why, frikin gas runnin out of the primarys like a river, pulled the needle out and a piece of rust was holding it open Â
And then I get it running back to normal, and guess what...I hear something  I'm pretty sure I've got a rod bearing out its knocking pretty good, and I saw some oil pressure dropping when we would come down after long runs. Ironic that if the carb had not freaked out, I probably would not  have heard the knock and put a rod out the block. Â
Becky felt bad for me and I for her(it was her b-day) She took all the crap better than I did. So we headed home.
