Have you ever ridden a bit more west of Barstow towards Boron? Some great riding out that way! Â |
My parents own 40 acres bisected by the Sante Fe RR tracks that run between Hinkley and Boron. I've ridden there many times and only saw other people a few times over the years. Â It's so desolate that we pack. Â |
I know Hinkley. Don't drink the water Hinkley, or is it safe yet. |
We always brought our own. The funny part is we went there dozens of times before the water situation was exposed. Â The Santa Fe engineers threw water cartons to us sometimes, too, thinking we might need it. |
I'm guessing that they no nothing of the water and were just being nice. |
Correct. Â This was when we were on foot away from our camp. |
It always amazes me where you can meet nice people. One day there could be somebody on this site talking about throwing water out the window of a train. There really are good people everywhere. |
It was "official" Santa Fe Railroad water, too, with their graphics printed on the side just like a milk carton. |
I used to rent a building up the street from the current Eliminator, My next door neighbors was a SFR way station, they had to buy they're own water. |
My experience was from around 1974 to around 1979. What about yours? Â |
About 94 thru 97. A bit of difference.
