Well I finally got something that will pull the boat out of the water without having to push.  The 4WD gives me the traction I need and its got plenty of power to pull my little 3500 lb boat and trailer.  I heard people saying that these were underpowered but its been great for my needs.  Plus, its about the best stock four wheeler I've ever driven.

Anyway, I'm just glad I can get up the ramp now.  :good

It's an inline five, same as the Colorado.  I was a little concerned but I drove it for a day and towed my boat around and it did great.  Some people complain about the lack of power, but I don't think they've ever driven one.  It won't set any speed records, but I have other toys to do that.  Off road, its absolutely incredible right out of the box.  On the road its very smooth and comfortable.  I considered an H2 but it wouldn't fit in my garage, didn't get very good gas mileage (I'm getting 20 mpg) and frankly, I couldn't afford a new one so I would have had to find a decent used one.

It's too bad GM is having some tough times right now because they are building some great cars.  The H3 is selling like mad, the new Tahoe has just hit the dealerships and looks fantastic, and their trucks have really improved overall.  This coming from someone who's been driving Fords for the last 7 years, Chevy's before that.  Hope they can bail themselves out.  I feel bad for the retirees and the hit they're gonna take.  I've only got a couple of years to go before retirement myself (gotta love that 20 year retirement) and I'm pretty well set.  They thought they were and now it looks like they're screwed.

Political sidenote: Why is it that most of us have to struggle all of our lives to get to retirement and then possibly get screwed, and our political leaders need to only serve two years for a full retirement, which they get even if they're removed from office because of a criminal conviction?  (stepping off soap box now)

Chevy campaigned the inline 5 for a couple years in the offroad cars I think vortec  and it was very reliable, they did well with it.
I havn't heard good or bad about the H3 it's good to get a review.
It's not just our political leaders, big  companies do the same thing, hire a "go getter" then two years later let him go with a parachute and we are back to square one!!

I'm sure (from what I'm hearing) they'll add a V6 or a diesel in a couple of years.  I guess they're already working on a diesel version to sell overseas.  I dont think I'd be too much more excited about either, maybe the diesel.  So far I'm happy with what's in there, like I said before, if I feel the need for speed, I'm not going out in the Hummer, the motorcycle will satisfy that urge.  So far my biggest complaint with the Hummer is I think they took the horn off a Vespa.

It does great on the highway pulling the boat.  It does struggle a bit on  steep grades, but I don't go too far with the boat so it's not a problem.

I have bought quite a few new cars over the years but did the best this time.  Lots of research and found a great way to buy GM products.  The have a program called "in the driveway" or GMID.  You basically have to find a GM employee to help you.  They are given 2 GMID numbers each month and can give them to anyone they want.  Once you get the GMID number, you go to the dealership, pick out the vehicle you want, and they sell it for below invoice.  This was great on a vehicle that they would not budge on the price, like the H3.  Sticker was about 38,000 and I paid 32,000.  Pretty easy to find someone to give the the number too.

I lusted after the hot Chevys back in the day. :cool
Amazingly enough, this ad is from near my old stompin' grounds!

I ended up with a 1970 Biscayne w/ the inline 5 from the C-10. Dog slow, but a reliable workhorse of an engine. :good

I had a Biscayne back in the day.  Learned to drive with a "three on the tree".  I'm looking forward to seeing the new Camaro when it comes out.  The Dodge Challenger and Charger look pretty sweet too, especially the R/T and Daytona versions.  Funny, I saw a guy driving a Plymouth Super Bird today.  Looked pretty nice.

Had a 59 2 door post with "three on the tree" and a 63 Impala convertible, floor in it was just about all rotted away still was a fun car. :laugh I think the Challenger is about the best looking out of the bunch, kept the lines close to the original. Man those Super Birds are getting scarce these days!.. :eek

Yeah, it really surprised me when I saw it.  It really wasn't a show quality car, looked like a kid driving it.  It was the same weekend as Barrett Jackson so there was a lot of $$$ on the road that weekend.
