I have the fuse inline from the 12V lug on the fuse box under the hood to the brake control.

The wiring harness that came in the glovebox to plug under the dash came with a 40 amp fuse, but no instructions on where it goes :stupid

Today I'm looking at controllers, And a clean place to put it :good

I have always used an inline fuse from the power source to the controller. If yours plugs into the factory harness it may already be fused :confused

There is no blank , or open breaker slots , and I have power to all of the pins on the plug.

This is not a fuse it is a green square 40 amp fuse. I think I'm suppose to upgrade one of the ones that are there.

I'll just hook up the trailer, run it around the block and see what fuse I blow.

Prodigy is Da Finest Kine.

The 40 AMP fuse is for some trucks that came with no fuse.
Some mid/ Late 90's Dodge and GMC stuff didn't have the 40 amp fuse, ya had to plug one in.
Save it for a spare.
It's the circuit that usually charges the batts in the towed vech.

Some other fuses may be affected & will usually blow when backing the trailer in the water.
Some ocasionally  blow that have nothing what so ever to do with the lites as well when ya back into water.

Trailering phenominon,, damfino.

I would belive that, But the 40 amp fuse came with the truck. Not the brake controller, Bundled in the glovebox with the wiring harness from GM. So it goes somewhere as a replacement or add on. as of today it's in the glovebox waiting to blow the lesser amp fuse :stupid  :good  :D

I got the same thing with the Ford wiring harness. It had a schematic to show where it plugged into the fuse panel.

My buddy has a hitch shop out in the valley - he took care of everything. Hooked me up with the prodigy too. Works like a charm. :good
