It seems that my wife is prone to getting ripped off by auto body repair shops.

Twice this year she was involved in minor rear-end accidents - she was the one getting bumped. I think it may be the prevelance of cell phone operators pretending to be driving.

The first time the shop took 6 weeks to straighten out the hitch reciever. That was it. Maybe a little paint. But not much else. She complained to the ins. co. and they had other complaints so they dropped them from their list of preffered shops.

This last time I told her to take it to a shop I had used before. She was hit from behind by a tourist from Italy driving a brand new Navigator. His whole front end was caved in.
She had a scratch on the bumper. I wanted it checked to make sure that the spare carrier wasn't bent.

Long story short...they charged to replace a whole bunch of things that weren't replaced. I just got around to looking at it yesterday, called the guy and asked him what he was trying to pull!

They charged for a new spare cover and the original was still on there! He said he'd check and call back.......oh, the mechanic forgot to tell him it was on backorder! :angry

Should I rip him a new one and call B.A.R.? or the ins. co.? :stupid

I sold paint for PPG for 16 years so I saw my share.  Scary how some of those places operate.  References, references, references!!!
