The kind that holds a boat :bebe

Damn it, now I have to go home and tell you tomorrow.

All  I know is that my old boat trailer had the rubber hub covers, all you did was pop those off and there was the grease fittings.

DAMN NEW TECHNOLOGY :angry

Those are definitely not "Bearing Buddys", they could be another brand though?, although I haven't seen any that looked like that :stupid Take the wheel off and see how they are fastened on, I'm thinking oil bath and if that's the case they will be threaded on!.. :stupid

Are you tring to do maintance? if so you may be able to call UFP and ask. if not check the level and leave it. also it says to remove the wheel and use a wooden block and hammer along the steel edge of the whole cap. to tap it off. that may be how you drain it. the cap may not come off. The buddy bearings come out like a dust cap only the whole stainless unit come off in one peice. :stupid

Not to deter from helping SouthBayRB. I'm having a problem with my trailer. It seems that sometimes when I'm towing back and forth to the lake, the brakes get so hot that it starts to boil my grease inside the hub.

I've tried bleeding the system and that seemed to work for a little while. But on my last trip to Havasu, we hit alot of traffic in town. Did alot of stop and go. When I got home I noticed that one of my bearing buddy covers had popped off and the grease on both wheels was or had spewed out. It only does it on the wheels that have the brakes on them. Any suggestions whould be greatly appreciated. :stupid  :stupid  :confused

Drum or disk?  drum brakes may be a little tight, careful you don't back them off too much it still needs to stop the boat, or not a high temp. grease. we did a brake job on a friensds trailer and had smoke coming out of the drums on the first trip :eek  had to back off  on the shoes and solved the prob. just a thought

That's Really Hot. If discs, might be a caliper piston not releasing. I have that problem on race car all the time.

Most times it's just dirt and other small stuff on outside of piston, Give them a good cleaning, i.e. rebuild first, could save you some dollars.
