If you haven't noticed already, I had to make a change to how attached images are shown.

It's a method to save bandwidth.  Sorry, but it's out of control and I'll have to pay around $50.00 in overage charges this month. :(  With the old method, everyone viewing a thread used the bandwidth to download every full size pic.  Now, they use the bandwidth of only the small pics and what pics they enlarge.  You can always use this button and show pics full size that you host elsewhere because that doesn't use my bandwidth. :)

I actually wrote this hack 2 months ago so every image attached in the last 2 months has a thumbnail already.  Those posted prior will have to be fixed.  That will take some time.

Thanks for your understanding. :D  I'm currently going through the old threads to fix the pics.  :)  It will take some time (probably a week or so), but I'll get it done eventually.

Hey no probblem here it's cool!. :good Can we still upload pics at 600 or do they need to be smaller or does it automatically convert them to thumnails??.. :good

It actually seems to be better cause you can view the pics full size after you click on the thumbnail :good Holla if I can help you out :comp But knowing my track record maybe you better do it :laugh

It's always better for me if you link from somewhere else, but many people don't know how to do that.  Linking from somewhere else was the ONLY option during the first few months of this boards life, but then I turned on the file attachment feature. :)

This project is time consuming but the HDF Bikini Team forum is done.  I'm working on Too Hot for Hotboat now, and the Member Rides forum will be next.  In the meantime, if you want a specific thread in any forum fixed with priority, let me know here and I'll do that ASAP. :D  Thanks. :)

I wrote half of the hack 2 months ago to automatically create thumbnails for every attached image.  That was happening even though you couldn't see it.  I implemented the other half the other day to show the results.

For images posted prior to two month ago, I have to download them from the upload file, make the thumbnails, then upload them.  That's pretty easy since I can list those images by date in my ftp program. :)

Since there are so many "attached images" on this board (over 2,000! :eek ), I haven't updated all of the thumbnails yet.  If there is any thread that is special to you and the thumbnails haven't been updated yet, post a link to the thread in here and I will update it promptly. :D

Hey Doug...there are plenty of 'free' uploading hosting places...like www.photobucket.com for one.

Photo bucket makes it really easy too...they give you the links all ready to go...just copy and paste into the post...you're good to go. :)

Maybe you can delete all the 'uploaded to your site' pics and everyone can do their part to host their pics somewhere else...and save you a couple bucks!  :good

Thanks for the option Wifey. :D  In the earlier days, I had the feature turned off and when I turned it on, I said it was for a trial period. :)  It's a fine wire to balance - Keeping this place cool for peeps to come to enough to have advertising pay for the costs. This thumbnail trick might get us by for another couple of years and then will go from there. :D

If anyone has the option though, please host your images elsewhere if you can.  Otherwise, use the "attached image" feature. :)
